Mariela Cawthon is a Paralegal and Law Firm Administrator with the law firm of Lynn, Pinker, Hurst & Schwegmann, LLP.

Mariela has more than 28 years of experience as a paralegal, obtaining her TBLS-BCP designation in 2004 in Civil Trial Law, and her CP certification in 1996. Mariela earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University.

Mariela is a former Executive Director of DAPA (2008-2019) and a DAPA member since 1997. She was the recipient of DAPA's Paralegal of the Year Award in 2010, and NFPA's Paralegal of the Year Award in 2011. She received DAPA's Pro Bono Service Award in 2005 and the President's Award in both 2006 and 2017. In addition to her work with DAPA, Mariela was District 2 Director of the Paralegal Division from 2012-2014.

This event qualifies for 1.0 hour of General CLE credit through DAPA.
