Venue and Removal: Don't Trust, Verify

Imagine an attorney asks you to prepare a draft answer to a lawsuit and, wanting to comply with her wishes, you do so. Reasonable right? Yes. But could you do more? Also, yes. What if you are in a bad venue for the client? What if you, as the exceptional paralegal, could spot a way out that the attorney did not? While I can’t promise a bonus and raise, Hartline Barger associate, Drew M. Thomas, will teach you in this CLE what red flags in pleadings that, if spotted, might send your client to greener pastures and impress your colleagues in the process. Drew will start with what unusual removal and venue rules to look for and then put your newfound knowhow to the test, by asking you to spot the issues that were successful in real cases.
