"How Politics and the Pandemic Have Created the Perfect Storm for Employers"

Synopsis | Change is one of the few constants in life, but those of us who practice labor and employment law could not have forecast the perfect storm for employers created by the collision between the current political climate and the now fourteen-month-old COVID-19 pandemic. While varying types of challenges are not new to employers, what has changed is the number of those challenges that simultaneously impact them in all sectors of the economy. In this presentation, we’ll examine these challenges, including those related to immigration, labor shortages, disability issues, anti-trust issues, potential juror biases, and more.

Alicia is Of Counsel with the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig and has practiced management-side labor and employment law for over 25 years. She’s Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and AV-Preeminent Peer Review Rated by Martindale Hubbell. She’s also the author of a supernatural legal thriller called “The Rise of Lady Justice” (available on Amazon) and spends her free time volunteering and hiking, with her most recent trip to Everest Base Camp in March 2020.
